About Us
We are a group of older adults who recognize that our generation has played a role in contributing to the current climate crisis. Now, with the benefit of retirement, we feel it is our responsibility to actively work toward solutions. We believe that a more sustainable way of living is possible, and that each of us can make a meaningful impact. Our goal is to help our neighbors and community understand how our everyday choices affect the environment, and to offer simple, practical, and proven solutions to inspire positive change in our lifestyles moving forward.
As a grassroots initiative, we began meeting in 2021. With the support of other local climate action groups, we focused on organizing and setting clear priorities. Our inaugural launch event took place on September 20, 2022, at The Gibson Cultural Centre in Alliston. While St. Andrew Anglican Church (125 Wellington Street West, Alliston) serves as a key venue for some of our public outreach programs, we are also active in local schools, churches, and community events, where we give presentations and set up informational booths to engage with the public.
