Carol Austin
Marketing & Communications
I have a diverse career background spanning 35 years of project management with a focus in marketing, communications and fundraising. In the early 2000’s, I launched a consulting practice and served multiple client organizations primarily in the charitable and non-profit sector. In 2018, I opened a retail gift store in Alliston, Ontario and fulfilled my bucket list dream of owning my own retail store which was called Concession Road Mercantile. The store featured Canadian-made, Indigenous, and artisan products along with painting and crafting workshops. After selling that business in 2022, I returned to my consulting practice on a part-time basis as I eased slowly into retirement. At present I work with an organization called the Alliance for Equality of Blind Canadians. My current volunteer work includes supporting Greys for Greens and our local library.
When I’m not spending time with my grandkids, you’ll find me baking sourdough bread, reading and puzzling. In the summers I love hiking Ontario trails, and in the winters, I’m in Florida hanging out at the beach.
